Precht Gustav

The Precht family is associated with the highest quality sculpting & cabinet-making in Eighteenth century Sweden.   Numerous examples of their work are attributed to either Burchardt Precht (d. 1738) or his sons Gustav (d. 1763) and Christian (d. 1779). Originally from Bremen, Burchardt arrived in Stockholm in 1674 to work at Drottningholm Palace, becoming Court Carver in 1682   Both sons achieved great success, with Christian becoming an important silversmith in Sweden during the mid-18th century.
