The ceiling light embodies the 'form follows function' advanced by Wagenfeld's Bauhaus training. Through the employment of simple shapes, a circular base and spherical shades, Wagenfeld achieves a visual simplicity and, in terms of time and materials, great economy. The lamp's working parts are visible; the opaque internal glass shade, a type formerly used only for industrial lighting, helps to diffuse the light while the decorative lines on the outer shade adds a touch of geometric energy to the overall composition, especially when lit
