Northern European, early 19th Century
Provenance:
Kilberry Castle, Argyll, Scotland
The original castle was built in 1497 but was destroyed by an English pirate in 1513. The sofas could possibly have been purchased to fill the newly rebuilt and decorated mansion house at that time.
