Blue painted and carved Giltwood armchairs in the Louis XVI manner, the serpentine shaped frame, with curved front and top rail, scrolling open arms and feet with cabriole legs, all decorated with stylised leaves and shells. Covered in RU Dolphin velvet (5632)

These formal chairs would have originally have been placed along the wall of a grand room, in combination with the bergères and settees of the commissioned set. Similar chairs can be seen in the Salon des Jeux du Roi, or King's Gaming Room, at Saint Cloud, to the left of the fireplace
