Probably German, mid 19th Century

European furniture of the time shared many common design elements. One notable feature was the use of bun feet on chests, prevalent in English, Dutch, and German furniture from the 1690s through to the 1720s. English chest of drawers of this period where often in walnut, the more expensive versions often with beautiful oyster veneers. English chest of drawers of this period however don't feature turned and carved finials which frame each bank of drawers on this piece.
