Meyer Adolf

Biography

Adolf Meyer (1881-1929) was a German architect and designer closely associated with the Bauhaus movement. A student of Peter Behrens, Meyer collaborated closely with Walter Gropius and was known for his functional, minimalist approach to design. His lamps, characterized by clean lines and industrial aesthetics, embodied the Bauhaus principles of combining art with technology. Often made from metal and glass, these lamps prioritized practicality and efficiency while maintaining a modern, elegant look.

Meyer's lighting designs influenced later industrial and architectural lighting trends, reflecting the Bauhaus commitment to simplicity, craftsmanship, and mass production techniques.
