Biography

De Nieuwe Honsel was a Dutch Studio primarily known for producing high-quality stained-glass lamps and lighting ornaments in the Amsterdam School style during the 1920s. 

The studio was founded in 1919 by artist Hendrik Cornelis Herens (1893-1934). It gained prominence for creating distinctive, often colorful, "pyrochrome" glass lamps, with major clients including the famous Tuschinski cinema in Amsterdam and the De Bijenkorf department store.
