Doria Leuchten

Biography

Walter Donner founded the lighting company Doria in the spring of 1945.

They made lamps priced for the burgeoning middle and upper classes and began to grab international attention.

In the 1960's they reached the peak of their success; they were shipping lights to Saudi-Arabia and produced the largest lamp of their time, made for a bank in Bavaria, Germany.

Working together with exceptional German industrial designers such as Wilhelm Braun Feldweg and the former Bauhaus student Wolfgang Tümpel, Doria received over 30 prizes for their designs, one of which was the IF-Design Award
