Ruelland Jacques & Dani
Jacques (1926-2008) and Dani Ruelland (1933-2010) were leading figures in contemporary ceramics. Both from Paris, they met at L’École des Beaux-Arts in the 1950s where they studied painting and sculpture respectively. This was the beginning of their partnership, both personal and professional. Merging their skills, they started creating ceramics together, Dani concentrating on the forms and line of the pieces and Jacques on the materials and the enamel. The couple created a wide range of elegant bottles and vases in, typically in either vivid or earthy colours, over the course of their career.
