Seguin Jérôme-Abel
Biography
An Indonesian trip in 1990 proved game changing for Jérôme-Abel Seguin and marked a turning point in the designer's career. Inspired by the natural beauty of the land and the felled mahogany trees dotting the ground in central Java, Seguin realized the potential of wood as an artistic medium. The result is a collection of sculptures, furniture and bas-reliefs constructed using a range of wood including teak, kalengo, and black palm-tree.
Seguin has since moved to Bali where he and his team source local materials to construct unique pieces with a natural and contemporary aesthetic, including furniture crafted using recycled spare parts of found machinery.
