Regency Rosewood Games Table

A charming diminutive Regency period occasional card table with beautiful figured rosewood veneered hinged top enclosed baized playing surface on fluted column terminating in over scrolled feet

Such small playing tables were popular in the Regency period in the fashionable town houses of London. They could be placed next to a sofa for a book or glass during the day and as the evening progressed be moved easily and opened up for an intimate and high stakes game of cards. Card games and all gambling for that matter where immensely popular at the time
